Meet People With MS

Meet Tim

Tim was diagnosed with MS in 2016 after experiencing numbness in his hands and feet, chest tightness and double vision. He can remember the shock and disbelief experienced by himself and his family when they recieved the news, thankfully though, he had an army there to rally behind him.

"I've been incredibly lucky in my journey to be surrounded by a supportive and caring wife, my parents, siblings and now my amazing daughters."

Tim's family were already riding the MS Brissie to the Bay prior to his diagnosis, and the news encouraged him to get into gear and join the cause. Over the years, he has taken part in the 50km, 100km and 130km rides, and his is planning to tackle the challenging 130km course again this year, supported by his amazing mates.

Each year, Tim aims to crack $1000 in fundraising, to be apart of the $1000 Club and make a difference to others living with MS as he knows first hand how the fundraising from the MS Brissie to the Bay can make a difference, having connected with MS Queensland and used the services like the wellness program.

"It's comforting to know of the support services available should I require them"

Tim is facing his MS, and his 130km ride head first, and with his family and friends by his side, he can tackle anything.

"My kids are my motivation to strive everyday and not let MS shape my life. As my neurologist says - you can't let the disease manage your life."

Will you support people living with MS like Tim?
