Join the Volunteer team!

The MS Brissie to the Bay bike ride would not be possible without the support of a dedicated team of volunteers.

People throughout Queensland living with MS need to know we're there to provide support when they need it most. Will you be there to join us at the Ride to Fight MS as an invaluable volunteer?

We guarantee you'll have a great day, whether you're out on the course, at a refreshment station or at our Finishers' Village, you'll be part of this incredible day and truly making a difference.

There's roles available to suit everyone at the MS Brissie to the Bay. You might have an early start on the Sunday morning, but it is more than worth it to be involved in this iconic event.

If you're keen to cheer on riders and be out on the course, then signing up to be a Course Marshal or Refreshment Station Assistant might be the role for you. Or if you'd prefer to be at our Finishers' Village, then check out the variety of venue roles we have below!

Please note that any children wanting to volunteer, must be registered with a responsible adult.

There's positions available on every one of our rides, whether you want to be out on the 10km, 25km, 50km, 100km and 130km courses.

You'll have heaps of fun getting to see all the action by...

  • Directing and supporting event participants (feel free to bring along pom, poms, clackers and wear your brightest clothing!)
  • Providing event information to participants and spectators (we'll give you all the info you'll need to know).
  • Keeping in touch with event organisers about anything important happening on the course.

There are 5 drink stations located along the course. Under the guidance of Refreshment Station Leaders, assistants will help set-up, run and pack down their allocated refreshment station. The 5 stations are located at;

  • Balmoral
  • Wynnum
  • Cleveland
  • Chandler
  • Redland Bay

This position is perfect for teams if you wish to be together for the shift!
Please specify which one when you apply to volunteer.

Have a bit more time during the week and want to be involved in some of the behind the scenes action? Located in our Milton office during office hours, pre-event tasks may include merchandise sorting, mailings, general event administration etc. Generally volunteers are required in the month leading up to the ride as things get busier and final preparations are fully underway!

This role also includes helping to set up on Saturday 8 June at Musgrave Park with tasks like signage building, merchandise placement and much more!

There's lots of roles to get involved in at the Event Village!

From early morning start line marshals who ensure the ride kicks off with a bang to event village superstars who man the merchandise tent, collect donations and cheer rider accross the finish line - there is lots of fun to be had!
We are also looking for 4-5 volunteers with their responsible service of alcohol certificate to man the Handle Bar. Please note in your application if this is you!

Required in the three weeks leading up to the event, Letter Box Drop Volunteers assist in providing information to the local residents affected by the road closures in place for the MS Brissie to the Bay ride.

It’s easy to incorporate this task into a fun afternoon walk over a weekend, with letters needinto be delivered to the areas of Wynnum, Cleveland, Wellington Point, South Brisbane, South Bank and West End.
