My Reason to Ride in 2025

I’m taking on the MS Brissie to the Bay challenge again this year for 2025 and pushing myself to the limit to ride 50km to show the people of Brisbane that just because I have MS, I can still do hard things and smash out my personal goals. All for the benefit of my health and future of my condition! 

This ride is more than just a day on the bike—it’s a commitment to go further, do more, and create change through the pedal power of awareness, education and advocacy. 

Every kilometre I ride and every dollar I raise will help fund essential services, support, and research for the 1 in 4 Queenslanders living with neurological conditions.

Did you know?

  • Over 1 million Queenslanders live with a neurological condition, including MS, Parkinson’s, epilepsy, and MND.
  • Many face daily challenges—from mobility struggles to cognitive and sensory changes or issues.
  • Just 6% of those living with a neurological condition receive support through the NDIS.
My Reason to Ride: 
When I was diagnosed with MS in 2024 the only thing that made the news less daunting to live with was the support of medical team. My GP, Neurologist and MS Nurse Practitioner. They were the first advocates for my continuity of care and giving me access to treatment as soon as possible. Through treatment sessions, my MS Nurse Practitioner, Pete, pointed me to the direction of MS Australia for any questions or support I needed that the healthcare system couldn't provide. It was at MS QLD headquarters, I found an Employment Support Coordinator, Mark, who as well helped me navigate the working world and maintaining employment while living with a permanent and chronic disability. If it weren't for the funding for MS Nurse Practitioners receive and services MS QLD/Australia provide, I would have struggled significantly on the lonely path an MS diagnosis can bring.

Every dollar counts, and together, we can make a lasting impact and improve the lives of over 1 million Queenslanders and make their experiences living with their neurological condition, better.
