I'm riding 100km in the 2026 MS Brissie to the Bay

I’m signed up to ride 100k for the first time on Sun 14 June in my second MS Brissie to the Bay challenge.

Have I ridden 100k before? No. Apparently riding 100k is an 'epic test of endurance.' I’m calling this an expensive way to develop a permanent limp and a very specific type of saddle-related trauma.

My bike is worth more than my car (I don't own a car), and the tightness of my spandex is frankly concerning. While most of you will be spending their Sunday morning sleeping, I’ve chosen to spend mine vibrating on a bike seat for 100k until I lose feeling in parts of my body I didn’t know existed. Your donation will help distract me from the numbness. Please help justify my mid-life crisis by donating to MS Queensland.

My fund-riasing goal is $500, last year I hit my goal of $250 so it seemed appropriate to double it. Thanks so much for having a read and even more so if you choose to donate. It gives me a bit of a warm and fuzzy to do something positive for the community, I hope you feel that way too.
Thanks for reading!

Did you know?

The 'Metric Century': A 100k bike ride is a popular endurance milestone often called a 'metric century'.

The 90% Rule: While 90% of Australians live within 100k of the coast, 100% of the people who see me in my full-kit cycling spandex will be questioning my life choices.

Calorie Math: A 100k ride burns roughly 2,000 to 3,000 calories. This is the equivalent of eating about 10 pieces of original recipe chicken. Which I will probably eat afterwards with all the meth-heads at the Kangaroo Point KFC.

The Kármán Line: At 100k altitude, this line is widely accepted as the boundary separating Aeronautics (flight within the atmosphere) from Astronautics (space flight).

Moon Travel: If you wanted to ride your bike from Brisbane to the moon, you would need to do the 100k ride 3,844 times. Maybe that's a bit far.
