I'm taking part in the 2026 MS Brissie to the Bay to change the lives of people living with neuro conditions!

I’m taking on the MS Brissie to the Bay challenge because I am pushing limits—not just mine, but the limits of what’s possible for people living with MS and neurological conditions.

This ride is more than just a day on the bike—it’s a commitment to go further, do more, and create change.

Every kilometre I ride and every dollar I raise will help fund essential services, support, and research for the 1 in 4 Queenslanders living with a neurological condition.

Did you know?

Over 1 million Queenslanders live with a neurological condition, including MS, Parkinson’s, epilepsy, and MND.
Many face daily challenges—from mobility struggles to cognitive and sensory changes.
Just 6% of those living with a neurological condition receive vital support through the NDIS.

That’s why I’m pushing myself—not just physically, but in my fundraising—to ensure no one faces MS or a neurological condition alone.

	Blog Title
1	Broken the $1000 target	View Thanks everyone for your support so far. I have made my target of raising $1000. Hopefully we can take it that bit further. The weather is also clearing. It just keeps getting better and better in the lead up to the ride.
2	Finally a break in the rain	View A break in the weather means back on the bike. Training has been a bit hampered with night shifts and rain. Great to get out this morning, on a brilliant autumn morning. 50km to Coraki and back. Rivers, farmland and a killer climb.
3	60km ride	View After a bit of interruption to riding and training, from trips away and night shift, I managed to get out on the bike with my son Hamish. It is always nice to have company when out on a ride. I was initially a bit apprehensive, as it was not my usual time for cycling, and it was a bit breezy out. No one likes a head wind. But it was a perfect 60km. I had opted for a route with not too much gradient on the climbs. Thankfully the Northern Rivers had a route for all occasions. Anyway, fueled with hot cross buns and chocolate bunnies, it was a great ride, and I’m ready to push for some longer rides, hopefully possible during my next two weeks off leave.
4	Best place to ride	View Out on the bike today on the rare midday ride. Perfect weather and great scenery. The northern rivers is a cyclist paradise. It was great to be out on the bike, not rudely interrupted by work or parental responsibilities. Training a bit disrupted by night shift and Sydney visits. Working up to some more regular longer rides.
5	Another year, another Brisbane to the Bay	View This would be my 6th Brisbane to the Bay. Always so much fun, and thankfully we have always had good weather.. It will be interesting to see the changes, with the new start/finish and some extra along the bay foreshore. It has mean a change from our usual accommodation choice, which was conveniently overlooking Musgrave Park, and the starting line literally at the front step. Hopefully the new will have its own enchanting atmosphere. I look forward to sharing some photos from previous years, and from some of the training rides, and hopefully keep you updated with the fundraising progress. Andrew
