Raising awareness for MS in 2024

With our team focus in 2024 MS Qld B2B on raising awareness we have selected orange which is the official colour for MS awareness and a nod to the Hekawi team (their preferred Kit colour to safely be seen on or off road) who first joined us in 2016 for from memory a wet ride that year and have ALL been avid riders, significant fundraisers and supporters of MS Qld over the last 9 years which we cannot thank enough and the orange butterfly is seen as a symbol in the MS community.

How — and why — the MS Community landed on a butterfly symbol. Some say it was chosen because of the caterpillar-to-butterfly cycle, “They are considered a symbol of life transformation” essentially, butterflies can represent how some people in the MS community feel when they transform their post-diagnosis lives for the better. Another member shared a different take. “It is a sign of HOPE,” they posted. Yet another member pointed out that magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scans of brains with MS resemble images of butterflies, hence the use of the symbol.

We are taking part in the Ride to Fight MS

It is rewarding to be taking part in the 34th MS Brissie to the Bay bike ride as one of our Twenty24 #ProjectMAD initiatives to join the fight against multiple sclerosis (MS).

What started as a social ride amongst friends and colleagues fourteen years ago for the personnel challenge and the opportunity to Make A Difference (MAD) is very gratifying.

We are raising awarenessfunds to show our support and your donation will make an impact to change the lives of Queenslanders living with MS.

Did you know:

On average, more than 10 Australians are diagnosed with MS every week
The average age of diagnosis is just 30 years of age
It strikes young people in the prime of their lives (3 out of 4 Australians with MS are women)

Your dollars will provide essential services and support like physiotherapy, occupational therapy, counselling and symptom management, as well as MS research to look for better treatments and ultimately a cure for the disease to assist all those affected by MS to live life to their fullest and reach their true potential.
