Ride Preparation

Be prepared and get the most out of your ride for MS! Our bike mechanics will be able to help with any last minute adjustments or supplies at the start and out on the course, but it is highly recommended you visit your local bike store prior to training, to ensure you are all set up properly.

Ride Preparation - Stay Hydrated!Preparation Checklist

This medication may increase serotonin and rarely cause a very serious condition called serotonin syndrome/toxicity. The risk increases if you are also taking other drugs that increase serotonin, so tell your doctor or pharmacist of all the drugs you take (see Drug Interactions section). Get medical medikament sertralin help right away if you develop some of the following symptoms: fast heartbeat, hallucinations, loss of coordination, severe dizziness, severe nausea/vomiting/diarrhea, twitching muscles, unexplained fever, unusual agitation/restlessness. Rarely, males may have a painful or prolonged erection lasting 4 or more hours. If this occurs, stop using this drug and get medical help right away, or permanent problems could occur. A very serious allergic reaction to this drug is rare. However, get medical help right away if you notice any symptoms of a serious allergic reaction.

  • Ensure you have collected your rider pack and rider number prior to the event. If you selected postage when you registered, your rider pack (an A5 sized envelope) will be mailed to you in May, please keep an eye out for it.
  • If you haven’t ridden your bike for a while, ensure you book it in for a service before you start. Like your car, your bike runs much better and is more enjoyable to ride if it is properly maintained.
  • If you haven’t been physically active for a while, it is advisable to consult your doctor before commencing any training program.
  • Check your allocated start time on the ride program.
  • It's important to do a light warm up before the ride and stretch after it. This is crucial to being able to get back on your bike the following day.
  • Wear sunscreen, even if it’s cloudy.
  • Remember to bring your helmet, pump, spare tube, small tool kit and water bottle.
  • Be prepared for all weather conditions.
  • Drink plenty of fluids before, during and after the ride.
  • Ensure you attach your rider number on the front of your bike. You will not be permitted to ride without your rider number attached.
  • Check your tyres and brakes before starting.
  • Remember the road rules and have a great day.

Transport and Parking

 Public Transport

Given the start time of the event, participants wishing to use public transport to and from Musgrave Park are advised to travel by Queensland Rail to either:

Southbank station and ride to Musgrave Park via Vulture Street, Cordelia Street and Russell Street.

South Brisbane station and ride to Musgrave Park via Grey Street, Melbourne Street, Merivale and Russell Street.

Parking

Parking is available in surrounding streets. No parking is available on Russell Street, Manning Street or Edmondstone Street as these roads will be closed for the event. Cars parked in these streets will be towed. Accessible, undercover parking is also available at the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre, Queensland Conservatorium and South Bank.
